Expand server limit?

So im a pretty active player and im trying to help out the server to expand it and improve on our little "kingdom"

So much so that i signed up for a forums, im a pretty lazy guy so thats alot for me, but one thing i have noticed is that we have a pretty decent server size limit, but not enough because we have a ton of active players, and are gaining more everyday

I think we should expand the server limit to 40-50, now i know this would cause more problems also, like more possible propspamming, more rdm, more etc etc just more people to deal with in general, but alot of times i want to get on the server it says the server limit is full so i usually have to wait awhile just for 1 person to leave, so i think we should bump it up, even if its just a little

This is just my opinion, i think it would get more people in the game so more people could have fun and enjoy the rp experience, but its good to look at the downside things of too to know what to expect

I also agree with the expanding the server limit to maybe 42, but if this affects the server limits or server stabibility of the MedievalRP servers then I am fine with the current amount.

No, this won't affect the Medieval RP server in any way. However, we try to be wary with the donations we have. We don't want to strain our coffers and go dry. We always want some money left for a rainy day or when there's a drought in donations.

In our opinion, having more server slots has its advantages and disadvantages. Our goal was to establish a close community, and having a higher server limit would dampen the community as we would be allowing more assholes on. The minge/griefer to legit player ratio is quite horrendous. Also, it could possibly affect server performance as 34 people prop spamming is bad, but 42 people prop spamming would be worse. If we decide to expand the server, we will make sure beforehand to check that it will not affect server performance/stability.

Personally, I'd wait until we built a stronger community foundation before expanding the server slots.

I think we're ok with the 36 we have at the minute. The server has reached max capacity a few times, but my ping (because I don't live in the US) skyrockets to nearly 200 because of all the extra strain.

I would think your ping is horrible because of your location, rather than the server performance. I haven't had any lag issues unless it was my own internet tanking on me.

mimcczr1 was correct about the lag spikes. It was probably the storm that Dallas had. I mean my ping wasn't on the normal 5, It was surprisingly on 35. While our beloved Veedohh was on a stunning 330.

Well, my ping is normally around 125, so it being at 200, even if I am quite far away, is still quite a dramatic change.

Hieu, you have 5 ping! I wish I could get 5 ping on the server. I get around 65 ping which is fine for me.

Would be cool if we bought a East Coast server, to accommodate East Coast/UK players better.

Currently the server is hosted in Dallas, Texas. I'm in California and I get 50-60 ping.

Dont think we're big enough quite yet. It'd always be a dead server. Plus, I got some UK friends, and they say the ping is fine! like 100 ish, but not noticable !

^This. 99% of the time it's totally playable and hardly even noticeable. There's just a few instances where my ping goes over 200 or even 300 and it becomes a real issue.

Lol, A ping of 14 is really good.

I think the current size now is a good balance between to big and to small.

I don't think the server would handle it, and I'm comfortable with the current limit.
